An Artists Cooperative based in the Cotswolds with Stroud as its heart.
The Stroud Artists Cooperative was set up in 2021 and our first event was an outdoor Stroud Art Fair with over 40 artists participating! Our aim is to provide a forum for local artists to support each other; learn from each other; provide opportunities and generally work collaboratively with members and other local bodies to promote art and artists in Stroud.
The Cooperative is entirely run by members on a volunteer basis - All are welcome to suggest activities and events (providing you are also happy to help arrange them!). Some areas of the website are still under construction! But we hope that you enjoy looking through our artist pages! We are now up to 180 full members!
Latest News:
We already have some wonderful local artists' work up at Woodruffs Cafe in Stroud - and feature different artists each month!
We now have a Sculpture Zone - courtesy of Chris James and Stroud Brewery! You can see it from the tow path alongside the brewery - we have had quite some interest already :)

We are having a STUDIO SALE next week - 13-17th August, at Lansdown Gallery in Stroud.

Come along and see what's on offer - there will be some great bargains as our members have a bit of a tidy up of their studios before the Christmas rush! There will be original art; print work; sketches; ceramics and pottery; framed art; Studio Glass - all on sale.
Our next Exhibition is "Urban vs Nature" themed - and runs from 23rd to 28th September at Lansdown Gallery in Stroud. Submissions have just opened to our members - and we can't wait to see what they send us! Have a look at all of our events here.
Shed Project: Chris James - our creative lead - has created the most wonderful garden shed! Commissioned by Gloucestershire Heritage for the Cheltenham Science Festival it has now moved to a permanent home at a local primary school. Chris says "At the Science Festival 5K visitors walked through the shed. It was then moved to a primary school allotment area in Kingsholme in Gloucester where it will be used as a mini classroom teaching primary school children how to grow fruit, flowers and vegetables. It will inspire. Had I not been in the SAC this project would not have been possible. To find others who were willing to help and give up their time has been amazing. In this group we had a former builder now photographer, musician, abstract artist, sculptor and painter all working together. Really brilliant."

Some of our other events include an annual sketch out and paint retreat in the Gower; portrait painting workshop; Exhibitions; plus the ongoing Sunday Sketchers and Painters group. We have lots of ideas for workshops which we hope to arrange through the year...
